Arggg help me decide!!

Guys,

I need some help here cos tbh, there is just too much choice.

I'm going to be moving soon and my trusty CRT monitor is just too big to squeeze onto the desk I'm going to have to get. At the moment I have a IIYAMA Vision Master Pro 22" CRT which has never put a foot wrong. However, I'm going to need something slightly thinner, so my thinking is towards a nice flat screen.

So......which one do I get!? I'm ideally looking for at least 22" or bigger, but understand that at 24" and above the prices get a bit crazy! I certainly don't want to be spending £500+ if I can help it as I've got stuff to pay out for on the house.

The monitors I've been looking at are Dell mainly, but I'm happy to look at other brands if they are recommended. The only Dell one I've found so far that looks any good is this one:

- Dell E228WFP 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 5ms response time / 1680 x 1050 Optimum Resolution

I believe it also does high def which will be good to plug my PS3 into!

So anyone know if this monitor is any good? Are there any other monitors out there that are worth looking at? All I want it for is playing games really, so a good response time is important!

Personally I'd get this. Shop sucks but you can deal direct with Dell.

LOVE my 2405 and that one has HDCP so you can plug in your PS3 (HDMI>DVI) and play some lush hi-def Blu-Rays

EDIT: @ Llwyd - he can call Dell Direct if there are issues - 3 or 4yr next business day support

Yeah I don't actually like that company, but like you say, I can deal directly with Dell if needs be! Hopefully I'll not need to though

Oh I didn't realise I could get high def on it as well?! Cool!! That means some sharp PS3 action then haha!!

Hmm so I need to make sure that the cable I buy for the PS3 is a HDMI>DVI and not the normal HDMI>HDMI TV connection (or am I talking rubbish?). Any ideas where I can order a cable like this online?

I've found dells customer support to be pretty decent in the past, despite having trouble with the occasional indian accent Wouldn't be as bad if, when you ask to speak to someone you can understand, they didnt give you some made up identity. "I am english, my name is john smith and I live in england street, yorkshire"

Personally I'd just get a HDMI out to DVI in from somewhere like cableuniverse.co.uk

Remember that if you ever ring Sony tech support you use an official HDMI cable

A lot haha! It was about £650 I think!

Thing is, it's so god damn heavy and deep that it's an ordeal trying to find a desk that takes it. Plus I'm losing so much desk space at the moment even though my desk is fairly large.

Can't wait to get the Dell though! Should make gaming all the more fun :yumyum:
