Are there computer courses that can be taken in the UK?

Sorry if this random question is in the wrong section but here goes.
I've done a little searching through colleges here (North Wales) and found only courses that seem specifically advanced or something like... ecdl *ewww*.

I'm really into the hardware, wanting to understand how everything works. I'm getting into a comptia a+ book which seems amazing but I constantly have so many questions that I could dos a forum if I were to write them out and I don't even know if comptia is a ''thing'' in the UK.

Thought I'd ask here if anyone knows anything about the educational side of things here. Cheers fellas, I'm off to play pool at the pub for a bit. :beerchug:

Computer Science courses are supposed to start from the basics, but they go for 2-3 years I think... or at least at uni they do.
You could give these a try if you want, they are free after all.

There's also MIT's lectures available on their site.

Depending on where you are in North Wales a quick Google search came up with this in Wrexham.

Will probably cost a bit of money though, bound to be more around if you're able/willing to travel a bit further.
