Aquarium Case :D

Yea, but you don't really need the fans :p. I think those submerged PCs are amazing, would be sweet to do one, I just don't care enough lol.

nah....i dont think the fans will be too much of a problem.....

its how the feck do you RMA a oiled up part??????

worse is PSU, if after a couple weeks it died, you'll NEVER be able to clean it out without breaking the warranty seals!

bloody cool idea tho!

Just put it in the dishwasher lol. As much of a joke as that is, if all the charges were completely out, that would technically work cause there would be no electricity to react with the water.

I've always thought about doing this, at one point I bought a bunch of 3M Flourinert but overall it's too big of a PITA. No good way to mount your optical drives and hard drives without building a completely custom enclosure.

I think this is pretty cool :)

I think the fans will be the first to go, due to the water resistance against the blades. Would wreck the motor.

What water?

Meh, just throw them in the bays from a case and drop them on the bottom, TBH. Well for the hard drive is, for the optical drive, you could use an external or just keep it outside of the case.

Just add some plastic fish and you'd have a nice 'theme PC'. The smell of cooking oil could give you the munchies constantly. Or possibly just make you feel sick.

Hmm, looks cool but i think it may overheat pretty easy.

Whereas the oil (presumably) is an excellent conductor of heat, the air on top (only visible ventilation i can see) isn't. Meaning it'll get hotter and hotter and hotter.

I may be wrong.

Thats exactly what I was thinking when I watched this ^

Sure it's cool at first, but nothing is cooling down the oil.... so eventually it's going to overheat.

And you would think this would screw up the connections between components after a while, no? If the oil were to seep in between the contacts of... say, your GFX card and the PCI-E slot, now it wouldn't be making a full connection.

:micro:

wow I've always thought mixing liquid and electricity was a no-no.

What is this mineral oil stuff?

Can't see the parts lasting long though. Surely parts will get fried.
