planning on new 8800 card prob gainward 8800gts golden sample-undecided about which block. I like EK polished, DD bit too pricey but had a look at aqua computers. opinions please.

Depends on what diameter you are going for on your water loop. Aquacomputer tends to be good for the smaller bore systems, whereas myself (with 1/2" ID) would definately go for an EK or DD block

If my memory serves my well the Aquacomputer block is made of aluminium.

I'm quite new to watercooling, and what I don't know fills entire libraries, but I do remember that copper, aluminium and water don't mix well unless you throw a fourth player in the mix.

Elaborated: Copper eats aluminium unless you add some sort of catalytic to the fluid in your loop. I've read somewhere Zerex can work.

I agree. While the EK blocks are amazing, especially price : performance, a standalone GPU block with multiple heatsinks and a fan blowing towards the card. on the card will always get you max OC

Zerex can work indeed.

Are you after a full-cover (pretty, decent performance) or a block only and some RAMsinks (not so pretty, better performance)?

small bore tubing 10mm,the rest of blocks alphacool, fluid xp in use,it would be 1 complete cooler.my nexxos gpu cooler had to rma due to corrosion (verdi green internally).i know alphacool will be releasing new cooler to do 8800,very thin looking.still leaning towards ek.

EK are very nice but more effective in higher flow situations. If you can wait for Alphacool then I would, review should be forthcoming hopefully on release.

Having said that, aquacomputer are a pretty popular make

thanks no hurry, will wait for reviews on a-cool and see if any posts on how aqua- blocks perform
