Apple's T2 Chip Locks Down Independent Repairs on new iMac Pro and MacBook Pro System

You'd have to be a little bit of an idiot to still support Apple, Horrible working conditions for their factory workers, Products that are notoriously difficult to self repair, Terrible customer service, Horribly over priced components and thermals are a joke.

I have to deal with these heaps in work. For the most part the macbook airs that we have are reasonably reliable. Still got a load of mid 2011 machines floating round that are slowly starting to die out. I seriously doubt the new pro's will manage to outlive the older ones.

This kind of crap just makes my life more difficult. Apple don't get any money out of me on laptops or desktops.

this sort of thing should be illegal. Yes taking it to an authorised repair service should invalidate a warranty, but to render the device inoperable is sabotage.
This is a disgrace and someone should make a stance on this!

That's unfortunate. I really wish right-to-repair rules were law so manufacturers had to follow certain guidelines. Luckily there are other options out there for laptops unless you require MacOS.

Well it may not be enabled but the fact its already there...

I will never understand anyone trying to defend this and basically allowing Apple to decide your data on your purchased device is now locked behind a totally arbitrary wall of... lets not swear here, anyway.. yeah its nonsense.

I never recommend Apple ever due to the way it locks you into their ecosystem and this just proves it all the more.
I do troubleshoot and fix family n friends IT and have only ever had real pains when looking at apple e including phones now just say no ty it really is not worth the stress of even attempting to resolve any issue and point them to the nearest apple store.
