I think it is cheap, but the title of this thread was slightly misleading as they are only charging people who have tiger and have not upgraded to leopard.

Apple executives have decided to charge current users of Mac OS X Tiger for the final version of Boot Camp more than US$29 to run the software. Boot Camp will be a free feature included in the new version of the operating system 'Leopard'. This means that Tiger users who want to use Boot Camp will either have to upgrade or stump up the extra cash.

As most people will probably just buy leopard and upgrade I guess $29 isn't that much for people who have tiger ( altho as has been said on many mac forums, they will probably just keep the beta installed :) ).

I don't think apple are being greedy. As above, they will only charge people who have not upgraded. Also at the moment it is only a beta which is why it is free.

Companies normally give out beta for free as a form of bug testing and charge for the final product. So people shouldn't be surprised or pointing the finger at Apple for doing so.

ya but does beta have a timebomb were at one point it will no longer run alot of apps do that so you cant keep using beta and have to buy the final if you want it.
