AMD has powered several of Apple's recent products on the GPU side, but it looks like Apple is looking to use a custom AMD SoC for future iMac products which should be significantly cheaper than using separate CPUs and GPUs.

Nice! Though doesn't look like AMD will be used for the more premium line just yet given their consumer image.

Apple is a premium line. Especially there iMacs. If they can get enough of these sold it should help AMD get a much needed revenue boost.
Apple owners can be pretty rabid about AMD gpus (They've always had some sort of problem be it apple or AMD's fault).
That said they've been in the mac pro for a while now and the new MBP has an M370X That would give AMD a boost as that is Apple's best selling product with a GPU.

Well Apple and AMD have had a pretty good relationship together. I don't expect them to drop AMD anytime soon since AMD is really good at openCL tasks and is better at it then Nvidia which may be a reason Apple has stuck with them as they also supoprt OpenCL. IIRC they actually helped push out OpenCL to avoid having to use CUDA.
