Apology to those affected by the post i made in the competion thread

Hello guys. A few of you may have noticed a little bit of agro on the competition thread over the past few days. I am the cause of this. I cannot remeber exactly what i sai but it was along the lines of

This is awesome they should make a clause that the people that win should fold for 20 hours a day every day allowing 4 hours for power cuts. To pay back for how awesome it is by adding 3 more rigs to team redline

Thats basically all i can remember saying. I was having a little fun. I wasnt trolling or anything along those lines. I didnt think anything would come of it. A few people replies say things like no i could afford that or electricity is expensive in aus. Fair enough some people turn their pcs on to use them and turn them off when not in use, makes sense save energy save a few pennies at the end of the month for a new pair of shoes or whatever. And someone said do it kind of like the movie pay it forward which is about doing a good deed in the hopes that the person that it is done to does some other good deed and so in and so forth. Which i thought was a very good reference but then some people took my light hearted comment the wrong way saying things like folding is a scam, a waste of money or a way of showing epeen which caused some of the dedicated folders to defend their view/hobby to which things escalated further and so Tom stepped in to get people back in line and like he said some people have been removed from the competition and post have been deleted which brings me to my apology

I am sorry for my initial comment in that it was taken badly which caused friction in the forums. I am even more apologetic that my actions have caused some genuine people to lose out on the opportunity to win a new computer and i am sorry if anyones feelings were hurt as a result of my comment and reaction comments to my post. So again i am sorry for the annoyance. Thank you for your time an if you forgive me thank you but if you want some sort of disciplinary action because of my word then so be it no hard feelings. This is a great community and i am glad to have been part of it for the past 18 months

Thanks for the apology. I saw your initial comment and read it as a lighthearted joke. I took no offense to it whatsoever. I didn't see the comments afterwards until the notice came in, but by that time socks/Tom were on it.

I don't think you need to apologize either mate your comment was light hearted.

I made a comment about people trying to force F@H on people and people telling others what they should do with their rigs if they won one like it was expected or required of them which I din't agree with. That wasn't directed at you though, I know you were only being light hearted.

I'm sure someone made a comment about folding before you mate so you're not the root cause of it at all.

Me too, my comments in the thread consisted of me mainly agreeing with people defending F@H and not forcing it on anyone. I understand if Tom has removed some people (which may include me) from the competition as it did kinda get out of hand.

i love the theories, not sure if stanford selling cpu time to the cia to spy on americans or its being ran by aliens trying to work out how to get home is my fave.

sparkle they was just looking for something to quote so they could run their mouth off with their agenda mate, you was the fodder that filled their quote thats all man.

He also removed my comment, but that doesn't nescessarily mean we are disqualified. Just imagine your reaction when you think you are removed from the comp, but you actually aren't and you go on to win!

I know mate, which is why I wrote "which may include me" in brackets. A lot of comments were removed and if Tom did decide to ban the people involved then we can't complain.

True, the comp may have drawn me here but it wasn't the reason why i joined the forum

I agree with this. The apology is obviously accepted and as above, the initial post was taken as a joke.

As for the matter of the whole situation getting out of hand, the main players in the arguing should also apologise for again causing a commotion amongst our ranks. It makes OC3D look bad. It makes Redline look bad. Tom doesn't work his nuts off for people to ruin the atmosphere and reputation here and we certainly don't Fold in honour of our fallen friend for people to sully our Team name with childish behaviour, least of all from within the Team itself..!

I've attempted to contact the parties involved but will no longer hesitate to ban them if this doesn't get cleared up asap. No more chances though, I'm (and I'm sure a fair few others of you are) getting tired of the tantrums..
