Anyone using phase with Asus A8N-32SLI?

Guys,

Having the problems I have right now with this EXPERT mobo I am considering going back to 'old faithful' ASUS and giving my TCCD a run (meaning perhaps some legendary BH5 will be up for grabs).

I just wanted to know if anyone here has or knows someone using this board, using a mach or Vapochill to cool the CPU and can get 300fsb 1:1 ratio with the RAM?

If it's possible then I might jump the good ship DFI and give this mobo a try.

I have decided not to do a review, based on my limited experience (resulting in flawed results and conclusions) and the amount of time it's gonna take - add that to the negatives that I have experienced so far, it would not be a fair result to me of DFI :(

That's exactly why you should do the review! DFI have been producing flawed goods for some time now. That's why I ditched the boards in my systems.

It also gives incorrect readings on the vcore!

I think all the latest boards have there issues i think you pay your money and take a chance!

I think the problem is that it doesn't work lol. Last time I spoke to him the board just keeled over and died :(

I dunno tho, but I have to say the things I'm reading about the EXPERT aren't really exposing its flaws and problems. Go for the review mav, tell people what its really like!

If you are thinking to switch boards why not go ABIT, there sli an8 does 3.5 volts on the ram so you could still keep your Bh5. Also Asus's a8n32 does 3.2 which will still get some half decent results from the Bh5's.

Also if you are selling the Expert I may be interested.:)

The Abit board is pap for overclocking - it might have decent mem voltage but you just cant use it very well.

My Neo2 clocked higher.

I also notice that 703 is the best BIOS to use and that there is an auto volt limiter which only allows 1.58v for dual core CPU's.

That's at least 0.07v short of what I need to maintain max overclock and probs the only reason why I wont use it (untila modded BIOS or 'fix' comes out).

And the other problem is I cant use it upside down in my V2000 because of the heatpipe :(

No problems with the heatpipe and upside down case for me.

Sorry to hear about the problems mav - still think you should do the review if you have the time thiough.

It's not the time it's the skill and methodology that I concerned about.

I'll only test what I want to test and it'll only show the best it can do not all the crap that I dont like to read meself. Then of course u leave urself open to all sorts of criticism just because of what I did or did not do when I tested to mobo.

Might lash summit up but aint decided yet.

As soon as someone introduces an SLI mobo with a similar layout to the EXPERT/A8N32 and with CPU voltages and happily runs TCC5 ram I am jumping ship.

The ASUS wont allow us phase cooled X2 guys to pump more than 1.58v in it but is a solid board for singel core no doubt about it - probs a better choice than the EXPERT (unless you are using BH.CH UTT style RAM).

I love the layout of the EXPERT - hate the stability, but I think thats because a really good version blew up on me and the replacment is only as good as the non EXPERT before it - not saying it isnt a great board coz it is - it's just nowhere near what I though it would be (high hopes dashed again).
