Just curious to see if anyone has picked up a PhysX card yet? I see em being sold and people talkin about em on other forums.

I want some first hand opinions how awesome compatible games are with the card installed. I imagine it's an awesome sight to see.

I think OC3D should get ahold of AGEI (sp?) and see if they'll hook us up with a review sample.

:( Hopefully they will spot us one for review so that we can form our own professional opinion of it! I don't know how it couldnt be insanely awesome when used with games that are supposed to fully support it. And we can't forget about the demo videos that we saw of it in action before they released it. The demo vids were enough to make me wanna run out and get one ASAP.

IMHO there ant much point untill games arrive where your frames suffer without one.

Physics cards aren't made to improve your FPS. In fact they drain from your FPS from what I gather. What a physics card does is allow on the fly rendering of special effects in a completely random generated sense. Thus it's going to cause your vid card to work a bit harder taking away from your FPS. But the end results *should* be a gaming/cinematic force to be reakoned with.

From what I have read is that everything in game will pretty much become interactive etc. If there is an explosion you will see shrapnel flying in random directions and actually do damage to the surrounding area(walls, trees, etc) Yes it will drop your FPS a bit because the video cards have to work harder but imo it would be worth it to see the game look almost real!

from what i heard, sli is almost demanded for running physx good at high resolutions with the eye candy on.

What I ment was that games basicly need one as a requirement, and if you dont have one the software drains your other parts to compensate. Wich would cripple your FPS more than having that card in there.

Taking the plunge now. I just ordered the ASUS card from newegg. Will let ya'll know how it looks and posts some screen shots once I get it.

Hmmm I should have grabbed the BFG one then to compare them. I only grabbed the ASUS cause it is $10 cheaper and comes with GRAW bundled in.

OMG, absolutely awesome...for interest sake what's the rrp for 'em? Can't wait to see how they perform !!! :yumyum:

Ooooooh, I cant wait to see some vids :)

At the moment, on something like GRAW, you get a few blocks round explosions etc. Kinda like chucking lego at the screen :p. Main problem is at the moment it's still poorly implemented. A geo-mod terrain (kinda like Red Faction) would be needed for best effects.

Well my ASUS PhysX P1 card arrived today. Currently installing it now. I will let ya know what its like later.

If you have the capability shoot a vid of it in action with a compatible game, i wanna see what this looks like! :D
