Anyone Got An A+ Qualification?

I'm thinking of getting one to get back into IT.

Basically I finished uni in 2001, got 2 years IT experience but then I went travelling for 21 months and am finding it difficult even to get a helpdesk job because of the experience gap on my CV.

Is an A+ the right way to go?

you will find a vicious circle in IT

you need experience to get a job, and a job to get experience

the best thing to do is find a job and perhaps work your way up the career ladder, as you will qwuickly find that qualifications will get you nowhere.

HTH

lol, whats im trying to say is stick with getting a job, you will get one eventually and that the qualification will prob be a waste of money

It might be worth getting an A+ on the side part-time though as their real cheap and pretty damn easy :)

I might get a book and have a flick through. I've got an amazon voucher to use.

Mr Fishbulb, are you looking for a hardware or software support position, also site or field based? Depending on what you are after I may be able to forward a CV to my boss if you are interested.

Cheers outrunner - I'm looking for work in London though (hoping to flee Berkshire!). Site-based hard & software. Something like a Desktop Support/Helpdesk role.

Where abouts do you work?

I do 2nd line desktop support, as part of a team 3, supporting approx 1200 users, and about 3000 PC's and laptops working at Three, the 3G phone company in Reading.

I'll ask my boss to see if anything is available in London.
