Any one on three screens?

I run three 1920*1200 screens on the 5970s. AMD haven't got eyefinity and quadfire to work properly, so most of the time I run with one of the cards turned off or one only on one screen. On the other hand I love having so much desktop real estate.

Quad SLI and Surround barely work mate.

And I mean barely. It's such a bodge it's unreal.

Thankfully I've got it doing what it needs to, but what a faff

For all the posturing between companies unfortunately those who invest in the best stuff often end up with the worst deal in terms of support.

Yeah it's all a sales patter tbh.

You go to Nvidia and they have a huge chunk on their website pushing SLI and Surround and 3D. When you get it you come to find they really don't give a toss.

I can't tell you how many hacks and tweaks I've had to figure out to get the crap working. Then you find your game doesn't support it and you have to start hacking CFG files around and all sorts.

Fallout 3 was a right pain. Firstly you have to hack the FOV to push the stuff to the right parts of the screen. Then the hacking computer screens are screwed and even with the "fix" you still can't see the last line of the code so you just have to keep exiting and wait til you get lucky. Then when you zoom in with the sniper rifle it's screwed and so on.

In the end though after all that hacking and faffing it's almost worth it. It feels so different I've become hooked again and am doing another playthrough. But even Quad SLI wasn't man enough for the res, HD texture pack and 4XFSAA. VATS simply crawled to a halt and stops for about 30 seconds. Lowered the AA to 2x and it's OK.

NFS Hot pursuit 2010 suffers from micro stutter, but it tends to smoothen out as the race goes on (probably synching issues). Dirt 2 & 3 are perfect mind, and Crysis 2 comes out OK also. BF3 won't even load for me, just goes to a black screen and locks the computer. Have to force restart

The only game that I love with eyefinity is Oblivion, and even that isn't perfect. Dirt 2 worked with one card in, but not both. And fallout 3/NV is a no go, as I like shooting holes in people from three miles away.

Nah it's fine mate. Hard to explain, will try and get you some pics later.

It basically just focuses on the centre screen. Looks a bit tom tit mind, but works.
