Another joining the masses!

Hi there,

I've been into overclocking way back since the AMD Socket A and the infamous Goldfinger device, showing my age a bit there! I used to be quite active on other forums, but after my casemod Parallel Hex on HardForums was completed I kind of retreated from the scene.

I stumbled across overclock3d.net while looking for reviews of parts to replace my aging Q6600 @ 3.6Ghz that was in the above mentioned build. The upgrade was kinda forced due to my Gigabyte X38 motherboard losing it's main and backup BIOS in a fit of restarts!

I gotta say I'm loving the site and the videos just add that personal touch. Well done and keep it up!

I recently got rid of my Q6600 for my 2500K, was sad to see it go it served me well

but i'm happier with my new CPU

Yeah I'll be giving my Q6600 to a friend once my i7 2600k parts come in. Can't really sell it since I lapped its face off ;-)

Yeah I enjoy overclocking, it's all part of the build process. First you decide what you want and spend some time specifying, like making a Christmas list . Then it's the building, then the installing, the testing (my day job) then the overclocking to squeeze that extra value out of it. Then it's time to enjoy the computer using it for it's purpose; multimedia and games!

I haven't folded in the past because I don't like to leave my pc on while I'm not there, and although it's a great cause I don't leave anything switched on that I'm not using. Good idea to use it to test and bed in the build though!
