An air cooler with better performance than th ultra 120 extreme?

Without watercooling options, is there a cooler on the market that out performs the thermalright ultra 120 extreme?

I use this cooler in my server. It's alright but I'd say the newer coolers like the Noctua ones especially are superior. And of course if you want to go with a sealed water unit like a Corsair H100 or something you'll get a big boost there.

I know you said not water cooling in your original post but those integrated units from Corsair, Asetek, Coolit etc are so easy to fit and are zero maintenance they are just like using air but better.

Are you going to be doing a lot of overclocking? If so then go for a Noctua cooler, If just a bit of overclocking then something like the 212 evo offers great price/performance ratio

NH-D14 all the way. If the closed loop coolers break and damage your components, you're basically screwed.
