I have a Cambridge Audio Azur 540R AV Reciever spare at the moment - I upgraded to a higher spec unit...

I am considering either trying to sell it OR to use it in place of my existing 5.1 setup on the computer as I can use it for several PC's rather than just the one...

However - what is the best way of going from a standard X-fi soundcard OR motherboard 3.5mm ports to a proper amp?

Thats kinda logical.

BUT - the 3.5mm jack doesn't carry all the channels - you need more cables to carry the extra channels.

I could I suppose use SPDIF - but the Xfi doesn't have one...
