My guess is yes. If it still uses AM4 and DDR4, it should support X570. With Intel making a new socket for Comet Lake, supporting AM4 will make AMD look great.

I'm really going to try this time, A 3950X to 4950X with the same amount of cores but a 10%+ IPC increase would be a little pointless, I'll try my best to hold off until next year

Unless you NEED extra cores or that 10% IPC gain, you'll be wasting a lot of money.

TBH it would have been a better idea to just get the 3950x in the first place if that is what you are planning.
