AMDs Releases Entry-Mid Level HD 6000 GPUs to OEMs

does the 6670 use a power connector? oh and are the numbers there same for this lot or which is suppose to replace which?

is there gonna be a 6770? i dont think so seeing as the 6870 is the replacement for the 5770

im guessing the 6670 is the new "strongest w/o a power connector

Yes there will be a 6770 and 6750, and i'm afraid your totally wrong about the 6870 being a replacement for the 5770, as per the AMD roadmap http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/11/10x1110iub994f.jpg

The 5770>6870 was a misconception as the 6870 is the 5870 replacement, and wipes the floor with the 5870 in tesselation and crossfire scaling, most benchmarks and most games.

Was going to add also: Guys beware looking at cards below the number 67xx or 66xx, as although some of them state Dx11 compliant/compatible - they mean exactly that. Just like a 4870 is Dx11 compatible, it's akin to putting a Windows7 logo on the retail box - doesn't mean it'll tessalate anything.

Hmm, every other source I've seen has said the 5870 outperforms the 6870. Also that the 6870 wasn't the replacement for the 5870. The 5870 is better performing...hence the higher price tag.

Also the 5870 has more processing cores and a higher memory bandwidth. To conclude, even if AMD did intend the 6870 to be a replacement to the 5870, it isn't.

The 6870 is around 5840 performance if such a card existed. The 6850 is about as powerful as an overclocked 5770. 6950 is to replace 5870 and 6970 to be the flagship tackling GTX 570. Antilles will then go up against GTX 595. Antilles will have a gig more ram than the 595 but from what we've seen so far the 595 will probably perform slightly better despite a tad less ram.

That was my thinking

Alot of these cards guys, there's just not that much between them. And it's unfair in many cases to compare someone's benching of one AMD card against the same card in a rig with a different cpu (as their drivers favor cpu use that much more)

Someone can install a 6850 and get better results than someone else cos of their OS install. Etc.

It's so hit and miss, 10 fps here 50 fps there (but in another game), that in all fairness I'd go with a list similar to this:

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/radeo...0-ti-gaming-graphics-card,review-32114-7.html

AND I'm not an advocate of th by any means. But it's as accurate as it really needs to be. Just ake into account the DirectX versions, quality of display and physx.

Lol ok, but you're totally wrong, the 6870 is way more powerful in benches and games than the 5850, so way faster than a theoretical 5840, and is faster in most things than a 5870. Suggest comparing the two and looking at all benchmarks rather than cherry picked "fanboy" ones
