Hey guys, just an article I came across today on Tom's hardware, was a worthwhile read so decided to share it with all OC3D members....

Here's the link

This is certainly a cause for concern for AMD.

You shouldn't cheat AMD.

To be fair Nvidia has done the same in the past, both AMD and Nvidia have done it more than once but in different ways.

To be fair the blurriness seen is very, very minor so it wouldn't bother me at all, plus they're fixing it in the next driver update so tbh i'd be completely fine with it if i had a 7000 series card

urk. thanks for the link, interesting read.

not that big of a deal in the end though right? just kind of imperfect release drivers according to the article

It's been know for a long while that if you want to test the two manufacturers performances, you should force the one to use better quality on it's textures than it does at default.

To be fair, I had to check the date on the report cos frankly I've seen this a long time ago, around when the 4xxx or 5xxx series came out I think. To me it looks like they took the same report and splashed 7xxx series logos over it.

May be unfair in the fanbois pov, but when whizzing around at 200fps, what difference do you really notice ? If you bank your verdicts on quality setting tho, you should take note.

All GPUs actually do this. If you have a GTX680 and you are nearing the 2gb mark Image quality will slowly degrade, mainly seen in textures in order to stay within the 2gb mark. Also if I am sure adjusting setting in CCC can bring those images right beck up.
