Sony is screwed. They dominated their industry for so long they forgot MS has the means to change the paradigm and completely push Sony out of their own market. The writing has been on the wall for a few years. Sony has some catching up to do in a short span.

This is pretty big if it comes to fruition and works as intended. I know Xbox' cloud gaming failed, but combining Xbox with PC in a systemic way could completely change gaming... for the better I'd say.

I don't think it'll be an upgradeble console. I think the expanded and opened software ecosystem will make the console last longer and give back more value over time.

Well PC is the number one platform and is just that for a few big companies Capcom being one of them, so this doesn't surprise me and tbh has been a long long time coming but makes sense now that consoles are basically mini PC's and were see in time how upgradable these are cause honestly i don't see that fully simply due to arch changed like AM4 AM5 AM6 or anything else it'll be limited in that sense but far more compatible in terms of settings for things per setup.

If they customize their hardware like they currently do and they end up selling upgrades down the line. There are two caveats I see happening and no other way. 1) they only sell CPU OR GPU upgrades (I don't count storage upgrades), 2) you must buy directly from them. It won't be off the shelf products. It'll be customized solutions.

Keep in mind this only increases development complexity.

And the tricky thing is just because you can upgrade it doesn't mean it'll be LGA format, could require soldering. For the majority of console users that's a no go. It'll have to be done by an experienced person. That's an interesting possibility.

With that said I don't see them offering upgrades. I see lots of gaming devices being offered on a more frequent basis, in regards to this roadmap.
