It's not confirmed, but AMD's naming scheme makes 64 cores seem likely.

If they were just doing 24 and 32 core models they would call it the 3970X and 3990X. The 3960X name makes other models seem likely.

It will be interesting to see how fast AMD's 6 core chiplets can get. You'd think they would be at the very least, on par with the 3900x @ 4.6. Hopefully better!
