AMD "will have more demand than we have capacity" for 7nm says GlobalFoundries

Well at least we would know higher prices would be due to supply rather than fixed pricing...

Perhaps, and yet I do expect AMD to become more expensive simply because they have a nice product that is worth the money. They made a nice cheap entry price and soon it'll be time to sell at more appropriate prices alongside Intel's.

i don't think they will do that with zen 2, amd is in a favorable situation, but they are no fools they know intel is huge and is already investing on multi die approaches to design which means amd needs to gain as much market share as they can while they have the tech advantage because after that they will be back to fighting an uphill battle

AMD doesn't have a tech advantage as is. It's much better than FX though and also cost much more.

Maybe Zen2 will have a lead. Prices are already very similar so who knows in that case.
