Anyone in the market for a GPU around that time frame will have bought the similarly priced 5070, If the rumoured AMD pricing is correct.

I'm beginning to think someone within AMD wants the GPU division to fail.

It's more truthful than a paper launch 50 series card though.

And you know I'm right.

Let's hope they delayed it for the right reasons and it won't be vaporware like the 5080 and 5090.
Yeah well let's all hope I'm wrong and they price the bloody thing right, as if they do, they'll have an absolute winner on their hands, and looking back yes they were right to delay the launch, but EVERYTHING comes down to getting that price right, and if they do I'll happily buy one.

The only thing that concerns me at all is the fact they are waiting for the 5070 to launch before they set the price.

This usually means a bit of snuggling up price wise.

However. Like I said I think the 5070 is going to stink, so as long as it's cheaper I can live with it.

Not that I need any of them, as I can't see them rendering a 6900xt, 6950xt or 6800xt obsolete.

Way things are going I won't bother for at least another two gens.

That's exactly the issue alien is to bother upgrading the value has to be there as with the nm scsle and manufacturing if the value isn't there you have zero reason as the wall is being hit hard tech wise sure ai us a thing and new chips help aid it but they are trying to sell something i don't need but that they are forcing upon us.

With nm wall the value has to be there regardless of ai.

Cause what i use ai for is different to what they create.

Take in terms of my phone pick up sure the S25 has better ai that the pro max very true.

But price wise big difference currently.

Thing is i do a lot of things with ai and its not anything to do with what they put on the phones i don't need a personal assistant.

And then when with things i do use it for i dont actually need the ohone to do it at all dimple as that they can stick all the ai on it they like.

But adobe express does everything i use and i mean everything music video custom art work with multiple layers and ai rendering different examples of preference to pick from what im working on.

Far far better than what the compaines are doing sure it costs per month but its that much better that it's actually worth it.

So unless they offer raw performance with whatever ai its got its useless to me.

Fsr dlss etc great gen on gen software locked things on hardware gen.

But the fact is if compatible with previous generations they are basically ripping people off but forcibly making you upgrade.

Thats the reality force a change firce it in games livk it to hardware gen making it obsolete it's killing pc gaming thats the fact and in all honesty they should be getting heavy fines for doing so.

Straight up marketing lies its not helping things progress it's making the market stagnate and stopping it progressing futher.

Does anyone think this time will be different because of what AMD have been so vocal about? Frank Azor has been pretty adamant about pricing reasonably, and there was that important interview with a head at Radeon regarding market share. I don't remember seeing this in generations past. Are you guys more hopeful this time than in the past?

No not really. I trust him about as far as I can throw him really.

His idea of reasonable is as close to nvidia as possible with an inferior product really. Not since Polaris have we seen value from AMD. Vega was awful and priced as closely to the 1070 and 1080 as possible and yeah. 0 trust.

It's sad because I'd love to be proven wrong and I'd love to actually be wrong for once to be optimistic but "yeah nah".

I'm expecting at the top end between a 7900XT and 7900XTX performance with pricing being close to the XTX's original MSRP.

Either way I expect disappointment, AMD's GPU division seems to be run by people who want it to fail.

Personally I don't think it will be that fast. Always remember though, "there are no bad GPUs, just bad prices". So it doesn't matter where or how it performs if it is the wrong price.

I am beginning to wonder when this tech gold rush will end. Like, it has to and can not maintain this going forward. I was always told that basically spending money on tech was a total waste as it will be usurped within a year and will be worth practically nothing. Somehow manipulation has changed that, but I would be amazed if it manages to continue for good. I think manipulating supply has caused all of this. And when Intel get their new fabs open? it will not continue.

Like really I have never studied business but I can come up with a better strategy for AMD myself.

1. Cut the BS. No one believes it, and you just morally shame yourself.
2. Release a decent GPU at a decent price like Intel just did and watch people bite your arm off.
3. Stop being sneaky liars. No one actually likes it.
4. Call Nvidia out for their BS and fake frames and just be honest.

I think they would be startled at the results of that.

I just saw a Gigabyte AMD RX 9070 (non XT) available at a store in my country. It's 1013,3 EUR.

Granted, this is with 21% VAT applied, but still. It's not a placeholder price. Well done AMD. You played yourself again. I can literally get a 4070 for 700 EUR. Sure, it's 12Gb instead of 16, but it's 300 EUR cheaper.

Oh, there's an XT version as well. It's 1224,9 EUR.
And there's one Nvidia RTX 5090 for 3079 EUR.

Yeah, if that price is accurate, we're all screwed. No one in their right mind would pay €1000 for a 9070.
It's more than accurate. We don't do placeholder prices. I can literally buy it now and take it home with me. When that is not the case, the store page usually states that it takes between 5-15 days until you can pick it up after ordering. These are available right now.

That's crazy, Unless the 9070/9070XT are actually high end and AMD were bluffing... although that's optimistic thinking on my part, I expect disappointment.

I'm probably going to stick with my 3060 Ti for now and get a PS5. Maybe even a PS5 Pro, if Rockstar announces that GTA VI will run at 60fps on a Pro.
