AMD are now set to hold a Computex 2017 Press Conference on May 31st, where the company plans to show off a selection of new 2017 products that should include HEDT CPUs and Vega GPUs.

I think the name Opteron says it all really. These are not meant for desktop machines. What will change that is if companies like MSI and Asus etc get in on it and make acceptable boards for home users. In the past Opteron chips went up to 16 cores, but all of the boards that supported them were £700 or more and were useless for home use really. Great for folding on, though.

But yeah, we need features (like SLi support and the correctly spaced sockets for example) in order to make these viable for home use.
