AMD showcases Ryzen 7 1700 running with 3400MHz memory

I think that under fast memory I'd say 4000+ ;) hopefully Tom will also try different memory in his reviews.

I would call 4000+MHz Ultra fast, especially given how insane the prices are on those DIMMS.

Here is how I would class DDR4 memory speeds

2400-2800 - Standard (seriously, who needs 2133 given the price of 2400-2666?)
3000-3400 - fast
3600+ - ultra fast

Yeah, 3000Mhz seems to be the standard for 'enthusiast' class systems these days. Anything below that is for more modest systems. Anything above it is either because you want the absolute best irrelevant of cost or you would actually benefit from faster memory.

We'll see, but if the rumors are true, bandwith wise the Ryzen IMC is much better than the intel counterpart. They can extract more bandwith from a similar speed memory.
