AMD Ryzen motherboard and CPU pre-orders are now live

Really wish I had funds for a new build, I shall be waiting for used parts on ebay lol

I would still get it. 14 USB ports on the back?! :o

Yeah that's hard core man :D

JUst been over to Overclockers and pulled the trigger on the AMD
Ryzen 7 Eight Core 1700 3.70GHz (Socket AM4) Processor plus the Gigabyte
GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 AMD B350 (Socket AM4) DDR4 Micro ATX Motherboard, for my build that's on the forums here.....https://forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?t=77543

Woot nice one man ! looking forward to seeing that

What I found genuinely annoying is the mATX lineup (or lack of). Not a single X370 mATX board up for pre order and the B350 range isn't that great either. Also with the RAM speeds the motherboards say they support, 3200 isn't supported which is my RAM kit out the window immediately

Looking at the CPUs on Overclockers, the 1700 is 65W TDP while the 1700X and 1800X are both 95W. Why such a disparity, surely XFR wouldn't have that much of an impact would it?

Oh and neither of the "X" variants include a cooler.

Apparently the high end Ryzen will boost pretty much as far as your cooling will allow. That will use up considerably more power.

Also ignore the TDP. AMD are about the worst at ever getting it right.

It was more the 1700 vs 1700X that made me question it.

Pretty sure the mATX are the x300 boards, and boards have been stating 3000-3600 ram, im waiting for the reviews of the boards from tom, cos if anyone knows what the best ram for the boards will be, its tom.
