If you want a more affordable version of the AMD Zen architecture then the Ryzen 5 CPUs might be just the ticket.

Great review Tom. So many angles on this one. Keep on the good work. :)

I am building new system for a friend, and i am undecided between Intel, or AMD which is the good thing. Last year it was go with intel... No brainer.

1500X could be the next AMD best seller.

Ryzen just gets better and better :)

Thanks for the review/s. Only site I've found so far with all of the 5 range.

Awesome :)

I feel sorry for tom even though in the video he says if you play games that need frequency then go Intel otherwise the 1500x is great for gaming he is still a biased AMD fanboy going by FB comments because Intel was better by 5 fps in other games.

Thanks for the review Tom you gave all the info needed and I had a big enough coffee cup to watch it all in 1 sitting. They just need some better looking B350 motherboards

MSI have a couple coming. Tomahawk and Grenade or something stupid.

TBH if you only do gaming on a PC and nothing else then I guess it's worth buying Intel. Anything else? AMD have it covered :)

apart from gear of war there wasn't enough in it to warrant the extra £ I think for the games I play which isn't GOW and Ryzen will improve over time

Tomahawk and mortar? just seen the arctic tomahawk that's about the best looking B350 i've seen

Yup that Tomahawk is teh secks man. I really like that board, and given Ryzen is a bit pants at clocking it should more than suffice. I think if I upgrade my Ubuntu rig to Ryzen I will certainly use that board :)

More are inbound dude. They all have wonderfully ironic names though given MSI's history with exploding AM3 boards.

Ed. FFS MSI two boards with the same first name?

It's this one I like.

So many idiots in that comment section. Those are the wannabe PCMR people who think they know everything because they saw it on Twitter.

Haven't finished the video yet. But just got to the start of the conclusion. Loving everything about Ryzen 5 so far

It would feel like double betrayal, upgrading my old loyal pc and not going with an Asus motherboard feels so wrong

I feel your pain, but that Arctic board is just sooo lovely. The idea of using their SLi bridge design as a cooler looks classy too. There really isn't anything I don't like about that board apart from the missing IO cover that the slightly more expensive Z270 version has (it's around £145 IIRC).

That said I could make one for about 50p any way so it's neither here nor there :)

I like MSI's bios, and when it comes to mirroring it in Windows they really have got it down. Their command center is awesome.

I like their Titanium board, but don't like the price or the dragon. The Tomahawk looks even better IMO (the Arctic one).

Awesome review Guv and I have to say it's a great time to be in the PC market ATM with AMD having very very competitive CPU's in the market @ much better prices = WIN for everyone no matter if you're on the blue team or red team and It's going to be an extreamly interesting market when refreshes occur or even new revamped stuff as the only way is up..............yep happy days

Thanks for all the kind words everyone, this review was a team effort though not just me.

There are valid points on both sides of the fence, just a shame the fan boys take it a step past debated and move into insults. Sadly its nothing new, I kinda know Im doing my job when they moan though!

Oh cool, it reviewed well too :)

Not so lovely in black. Still, at least they do both :D

Thanks Tom.. That might be why I missed it though (because it was the black one).

Ive got the Artic coming, but its the same board in a different Skirt. We will just be doing a 'preview' and adding pics to the original review so people know it covers both.

Ooo excellent ! nice one man. And nice one MSI, looking forward to seeing this beauty :)

Really want to switch from this 6700k to a R5 1600 setup. But I think I should wait till Zen2(or whatever ends up being called). Think I should focus on Vega first:)
