If you want a more affordable version of the AMD Zen architecture then the Ryzen 5 CPUs might be just the ticket.

I feel sorry for tom even though in the video he says if you play games that need frequency then go Intel otherwise the 1500x is great for gaming he is still a biased AMD fanboy going by FB comments because Intel was better by 5 fps in other games.
Thanks for the review Tom you gave all the info needed and I had a big enough coffee cup to watch it all in 1 sitting. They just need some better looking B350 motherboards
MSI have a couple coming. Tomahawk and Grenade or something stupid.
TBH if you only do gaming on a PC and nothing else then I guess it's worth buying Intel. Anything else? AMD have it covered![]()
apart from gear of war there wasn't enough in it to warrant the extra £ I think for the games I play which isn't GOW and Ryzen will improve over time
Tomahawk and mortar? just seen the arctic tomahawk that's about the best looking B350 i've seen

Yup that Tomahawk is teh secks man. I really like that board, and given Ryzen is a bit pants at clocking it should more than suffice. I think if I upgrade my Ubuntu rig to Ryzen I will certainly use that board

More are inbound dude. They all have wonderfully ironic names though given MSI's history with exploding AM3 boards.
Ed. FFS MSI two boards with the same first name?
It's this one I like.

It would feel like double betrayal, upgrading my old loyal pc and not going with an Asus motherboard feels so wrong

Oh cool, it reviewed well too
Not so lovely in black. Still, at least they do both
Thanks Tom.. That might be why I missed it though (because it was the black one).
Ive got the Artic coming, but its the same board in a different Skirt. We will just be doing a 'preview' and adding pics to the original review so people know it covers both.
I've got the arctic coming with a 1500x and some ram, wondering if the cooler will fit my son's AM3
