Those are Nvidia prices without Nvidia features and still on GDDR6. Are these people counting on lack of Nvidia 50 series availability to sell these?

Whatever the case may be, unless the performance is way ahead of Nvidia, and not just 10-15%, it's another DOA GPU.

AMD have already dismissed those kinds of prices. It's possible that when a company dismisses a gross price that it could mean it's only slightly cheaper than what was gross. Which is like saying, "I would never serve rat to my customers... I only serve pigeon." But there is no way AMD is going regain market share with prices beyond $650 in my opinion.

If AMD set lower prices and partners don't adhere to those prices it's not really AMDs fault.

I just hope AMD makes a good OEM cooler. For those that want a GPU as cheap as possible.

AMD and Nvidia can't set prices. All they can do is throw out their lame RRP and then sit back as AIBPs sprinkle in the crappy features and greed.

However.

I can't see the 5070 costing anywhere near 850 bucks. The 5080 RRP is a grand and the 5070 will be cut down beyond recognition and performance.

So I'm hoping the XFX card at 850 is a place holder kinda like how OCUK had their placeholder for the 5090 set at 25k and no I'm not joking.

Even their last gen high end cards started at 700. So I can't see them releasing a mid range card at 850 that would defy belief.

What I *do* believe though is that AMD are cutting down on the amount of cards they release each gen to rail road you onto the 9070 and XT. Which IMO is fine providing they're not crud.

Kinda like how last round we got 7900xt, the XTX and 7700/7800XT with pretty much nothing below those four cards worth touching.

It'll still be cheaper and better than a ps5 pro.

So same old story as the 9070 is 650 100 over where it should be as the XT is 750 and upto 850 nah total skip at them prices 700 for the XT maybe but they obviously want to cosy up rather than go hard as they keep saying all hot air as usual....

Thou these prices online could be completely incorrect cause i not seen no reveal event myself they simple don't understand that getting it right from word go is danaging them yet they got it so right with zen why can't the head of zen lead radeon in the right direction.

Cause the cpu side is way ahead since the start of zen on price they nailed it yet radeon even thou same company are completely clueless and I've yet to see a card at a price to get me to upgrade on either side.

At this rate nvidia and amd will continue for a few generations as they are the Intel will sneek in and bam steal the whole market and back to tit for tat pricing cause as far as im concerned the only company capable software wise now is Intel to pull nvidia down a peg or two in time. Would be my guess that intel has plenty they not even spoken about or even created fully yet as the hardware isn't ready or the drivers but it wont be many generations.

So amd you got a choice on gpus either bring the goods now or lose you small stake in this market if they don't wise up by udna1 then they might as well exit the gpu market and im very pro amd but the desire on price just isn't there and while the software has gotten much better as well as dxr on the 9070's it's not at a point where they are seen in the same mindshare as nvidia and so like it or not shouldn't be trying to even think on 850 for especially a mid range card and only reason they are is cause nvidia are selling polished junk!

Raster performance has hit a brick wall at least with Nvidia. With power use soaring through the roof.

The more time goes on the more it seems like the higher end 6000 series cards were like the 1080 and 1080ti, and if you have one you'll be using it for years to come.

Game graphics are also at a brick wall too IMO. Just like they were when nvidia released the 10 series. Other than things like RT they haven't improved that much and it's only Cyberpunk that has seen continual improvements. No other RT game has as far as I'm aware.

Fact is you just don't need it. As such if you are not starving for VRAM a 6800+ card or 3080ti/3090 are still more than enough for any one to enjoy PC gaming.

It's funny how bad Samsung dies were but the cards since then generationally have all been worse.

That shows you just how bad the raster brick wall is to nvidia and why they are focusing on the frame gen crap.

Outside of AI and even dxr to a point now they are at a standstill the nm levels have gotten to the point where the sheer rnd costs are vast or new methods and materials are needed.

You ate correct i don't need a new card atm as it stands but the hobby in general is at a stand for me as nothing worth upgrading too.

I knew the limit was coming just didn't expect it just yet.

The 5k series is a complete ai minor upgrade very few changes outside of ai to warrant it and i expect exactly similar results in a longer time frame with 6000 nvidia series as even if 1 or 2nm node aint gonna do much at all in truth and the prices are horrific on any of them moving forwards.

Even if i got a new card I'd never sell the one i have even nephew is aware he could use it but never own it.

The prices across the board on gpus absolutely suck even woth inflation they are gouging and amd are following nvidia they simply trying to maintain some form or value but while offering no value.

If i cant get a card that's 50% better than my 6800xt for under 700 where is the generational value it's no where to be found.

I see the point on improving dxr fsr etc but expecting top dollar for software ai features alone isnt the way forwards.

Id more likey go 2nd hand nvidia of past generations if it wasn't for the absolutly badly designed connector think what you like on it if pro nvidia but the people buying 5090's id certainly hope understood how to plug it in.

Cause there is not reason for melting cables at this stage the one improvement they made was cooler design itll get ripped by many as actually a sensible size compared to aibs.

3500 for a top spec 5090 is disgusting no two ways about it.

But unless the amd prices on gpus are lower than them prices they simply can't be trusted to tell the truth.

The current gold price certainly isnt helping but nah not a chance id pay 850 for a 7900xt with better dxr and fsr.

Thou i heard its within 10% lower than a 4090 but if thats the case then why would they be saying its not a top end card cause a 4090 is still a top end card as the 5090 is what 25% for 25% added cost but actuall ive seen most even tuf editions priced at 2400 or the top spec 3500.

Adding to that dxr games well i own most of them and outside of gta vi theres very little i see until a new gen starts.

To be very honest I'm far far more likely to buy a switch 2 at 279.99 than even bother with pc atm.

My pc is totally okay and thanks to alien plenty of storage.

Yeah that 6800xt is getting more like the 1080ti every year and I've owned it dince near enough on launch what end of this year itll be 5 or 6 years with fsr even basic it plays anything so i honestly feel that nvidia and and should focus on better value and tech for making games rather than running them.

Help the companies get to the newer tech and hardware to reinvigorate the market with games not price gouging.

Which in fairness they do to a point as nvidia is nintendo and amd is xbox and sony.

But then lets be honest how is it we can buy s decent console for 400 complete the whole machine even if subsidised yet they cant sell a gpu that gives thevsame results on pc unless it's 700 quid

It's an absolute joke these higher prices even the 5090 should be over a grand i somply do not believe they can say that while not laughing there heads off in there offices.

Just like motherboard prices these days.

The market is stagnating in everyway possible and unless i can get 50% more for under 700 I'm nkt intrested thats not to say i would spend more i would but the value isnt there currently.

Case in point on a recent purchase i was going to go Samsung S25 ultra but the iphone16 pro max waz better value at 37 a month vs 48 which might not seem big but with the discounts and deals resulted in.

S25 ultra being 1950
Vs
Iphone 16 pro max costing 1300

Thats a basic package with all calls and texts and i simply put my sim in new and basic in old.

So it's not purely about price its about value for the money and a 9070xt at 850 simply isnt any extra value with whats going around the rumour mill cause if it was 10% less than a 4090 there isnt any way amd wouldn't have had a full stack of cards in the gen cause a 4090 in some cases is better than a 5090.

It's a real joke and im not paying that ill simply stick to what i have.

But i garantee this much when gta vi is due out i dare say they will all be clamaring to sell you far better cards as that will be the biggest selling game of all time in very short time frame.

Honestly the only game coming soon i want badly is the new doom and they code there games correctly and it will run on a potato.

So anyone thinking they truly need a 5090 well doom is PC gaming in a massive way the whole of modern pcs for me was about games like that so no to these crazy prices.

Just absolutely no chance your going to market me with gimmics when im looking for raw performance simple as that 100%
