AMD is looking for some cash and has decided to take on more debt in an attempt to replenish its bank account. Offered to institutional investors, the Convertible Senior Notes will raise at least $1.97 billion in cash and as much as $2.17 billion, depending on how enthusiastically the institutional investors respond.

To be honest im not even SLIGHTLY surprised by this. Wouldnt want to be one of their investors at the moment to be honest.........

I have full confidence in their long term ability to continue as a major competitor to Intel (and now nVidia), but as for their profitability and bragging rights in the high end desktop sector for the next few quarters... not so much

All I can say is good luck AMD! :)

Used to use there stuff alot.. but intel have knocked them down.

Wouldn't want AMD to disappear.. Wonder what the future holds! :p

They'll get over it for sure. They've done it in the past, and I'm sure they'll do it again.
