Finally the newest AMD Radeon card is here and we can tell you what it brings to the party. Is it to the GPU world what the Zen was to the CPU one?
AMD Radeon VII Review

Based on this review, And several others, I will not be purchasing a Radeon 7, I'll either wait for high end Navi or if that disappoints aswell I'll end up quitting PC, Prices are going up and up and up and gen to gen performance is stagnating.
Edit. Apologies, where are my manners? thank you kindly Mr Guv for the review. It's pretty much everything Lisa Su said it would be so no false expectations or smoke and mirrors like last time. I am glad she handled the launch tbh. It really cut out on the bullshine.
Bloody nice work AMD! We all know AMD cards mature well over time (290X) I can easy see the R7 chasing 2080Tis down in no time at all.
Always a team effort here
Agreed on the Lisa Su and the way the launch was handled tbh.
Yeah very true the VRM components are twice the price of Nvidia's and twice as goodThanks guv and the team for a good in sight into the card performance and AMD's launch was on the money or there about.
As for price drop i don't see that coming and if it dose will only be slight as AMD have used some nicer components on there board coupled with 16gb of hbm2 which all comes at a cost
Yeah that test seems off given he got worse results than his Vega64, though the rest are fine I thinkSomething weird going on there, definitely! German newssite www.golem.de
got FAR better results in some games. In BFV 1080p their Radeon got almost 30FPS MORE than the Vega64.
They got to the conclusion that it performs pretty much the same as the 2080, it just depends on the game whether AMD or Nvidia is preferred. They would still choose the 2080 as it's cheaper and got the Tensor Cores.
I think we can blame early drivers and the most likely differences in the overall test bench. I just rechecked the prices of the 2080. Holy moly, they range from 650€ to 820€!Yeah that test seems off given he got worse results than his Vega64, though the rest are fine I think
I think most reviewers compare the VII to the 2080FE though which has higher clocks than cheaper modelsI think we can blame early drivers and the most likely differences in the overall test bench. I just rechecked the prices of the 2080. Holy moly, they range from 650€ to 820€!
