AMD PLP Question

AMD has listed PLP support on 285 and newer GPU's. Here is a screen saver I have been using, SerineScreen Marine Aquarium.

As you can see, this screen saver works in PLP in an eyefinity type setting perfectly. The program is setup for multiple screens natively.

My question is why can a screen saver do this, but a game can't without a hardware solution on the card?

Good question. I have no idea. I imagine though the screen saver would have been specifically written to cope with such setups. PLP represents a small percentage of a small percentage (triple monitor setups) so maybe games developers save costs by focusing on the mainstream. Of course this is all pure conjecture on my part.

My question is when is Nvidia going to catch up and offer PLP or even mixed resolution or mixed sync polarity support for surround.

I like the concept of PLP for those of us continuing to give life to older monitors when we upgrade if we can't afford to buy three identical spec monitors at once.
