My AMD Phenom II 965 BE processor has recently been having some problems with the overclock of 4ghz

When I play games or render videos it will shut down? and just crash

My processor has stepping 3 so it can get to 4ghz easily but recently it's been crashing because of it, it works fine at stock 3.4 but as soon as its at 4 i get crashing.

The overclock is at 1.5v and i have changed it +/- of that too

Any ideas?

Thanks

temps??? I'm thinking maybe ur psu is crappin out abit or something is getting hot and throttling down, causing a crash. kind of hard to pinpoint. Might be processor has had enough of havin 1.5v's shoved at it.

Temps are around 30C on idle @4ghz and at max it peaks at about 46C

I've had the processor for just over a year, and i've been messing with it a bit, so i might have damaged it in a way?

possible as ur temps are inline. Actually I would of expected higher @1.5v if you have the means try testing psu under load outside of normal operatons

(another rig) or try swapping memory if you have the means. I'd try and test all factors independently to see if removing one helps the issue out.

Well my cooler is really good which is why it is so cool but yeahh i gotta do some troubleshooting to get it working again
