AMD/Nvidia Rig

Hey there peeps. I'm looking into getting a new rig in a few months. The thing is that i was thinking about CF7970's but then i did some research and most people said that a single 780 would do me much better on a single monitor so here is what i came up with:

CPU: AMD FX 8320
Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
MOBO: Gigabyte 990FX UD3
RAM: Kingston HyperX Low profile 1600Mhz CL9
GPU: Gigabyte Windforce GTX 780
SSD: Kingston SSDNow V300
HDD: WD Black 1TB
PSU: Corsair RM650W
Case: Bitfenix Shinobi Window (Will eventually mod to a window with no fan mount)

Now this has been planned out on a budget, but du you guys think that this is the best option vs the CF7970's? (Obviously i would have to get a higher wattage psu to run the dual AMD cards.)

I only trust Asus, MSI for the 990fx platform, Those Gigabyte UD3's have a tendency of going up in smoke.

What's wrong with AMD cpus? It's pretty much neck and neck. Moores Law until HSA or some other innovation.

Although.. PCI E 3 actually does make a difference for SLI or CF high end GPU's like the 780 / r9 990/x

Nothing wrong with amd cpus, an the gigabyte ud5 rev 3 is ok to use just steer clear of the ud3
 
The 8320 will be fine. You MUST overclock it though and it'll probably not be a good idea to put another 780 with it at some point as that will be bottlenecked by the cpu's lower clock. Its incredibly rare to get an 8320 that can go as high as the 8350 overclocked (i.e. 4.7-5GHZ). What games do you play? I personally have no issues with any of the games I play (ARMA2&3 etc) but I'm sure the frame rate might be a little lower than an i5 with the same card. Battlefield is where the cpu can really shine though :D.

No it will be bottlenecked by the PCI E 2 lane not the CPU itself.

Well i haven't really had a gaming rig before. a couple of "gaming" labtops with discrete gpu's so i'm looking to get into some newer titles like BF4, crysis 3 and so on. Atm i mainly play League of legends and F1 2012 but that's only because that's what i can run^^ I would, if the CPU can handle it, get into planetside :)

But should i look into the Asus M5A99FX Pro 2.0 instead of the gigabyte board then?
