It's just Biz they all guilty of all the above things, but I can say this much FSR is open i.e both consoles use it and all GPU's can use it, so while behind the scenes things happen it's not like nvidia haven't done plenty themselves over the years and last time i checked not that i ever expect it to change nvidias stuff is very much not open ?
Idk why anyone expects different from any of the tech companies holding one on a pedalstall while expecting the others to compete when most are so hard stuck to nvidia that it'll never change you cant have it both ways.
Whole reason i ditched nvidia and wanted too for a long time was locking out easy features on different generations, one being physx years back and then RTX voice i know this as i modded the app to work with my cards, now if i could make it work why couldn't nvidia truth is they need these features to try to force you to upgrade, they also do this tatic of giving you bare minimum so that in a short time your have too, obserlesance.
So like you say it's not a good look, but in my view neither are many many of the things nvidia do but i'm sure not going to give them an easy pass, they loved crypto they love AI and i can tell you now where the money is is where they will always go they do not care about gaming at all, they never have and in truth nor does AMD or Intel but i do find it hard to express a viewpoint when people make nvidia look like the good guy when in truth they are all the same, just some are more sickening than others.
it's the devs work that makes games broken generally so expect bugs it's 100% normal these days it seems ship it out get the money and eff them all over.
If a game has FSR I use it or RSR and not had an issue myself yet, but it's not always the same for everyone at times different hardware will just kick up a stink be it ram mobo or other, but i always say my part when i do have an issue i'm not painting a different light, but gotta admit it's getting to the point that nothing will change as your all so set in what you feel, idk if it's marketing or just force of habit or fps numbers, but there it'll not change any time soon.
