AMD is rumoured to be decreasing the price of their RX 470

It should never ever have been that much. They had a potential winner on their hands and what do they do? price it so close to the 480 that you'd have to be bloody barking to buy a 470.

Sirry irriuts.

If they price this the same, the 470 will definitely be the better buy in 95% of all situations than a 1050ti. The extra VRAM alone is a pretty convincing argument too as even games at 1080 can consume a lot if VRAM.

Your right there fella tbh it should not have taken a 1050i release for them to price it correctly

Are those dollar amounts in USD?? Those quoted prices are WAAAY off if that is the case. Most 470's start around $200USD, 480 8GB models are pretty much minimum $250. The MSRP's seem to be just a marketing ploy now. It really throws the whole value spectrum off, especially when considering previous gen hardware in comparison if you don't need the hefty VRAM amounts.

That's true, I feel like they were priced to high because of yields or just poor stock. So i don't blame AMD for the extra costs entirely as it's also Etailers too. I mean just look at the 1080 launch. That was horrible gouging!

MSRPs aren't the ploy. That's what AMD recommeds, but it's not a set rule, so Amazon and etc, increase costs to make more. On Newegg the 8gb 480s are generally only $10 more than MSRP, but all the popular models are way overpriced. I blame gouging on Newegg there. Like the Nitro is $279. That's ridiculous!

Bit bus isn't really an important factor like it used to be tbh. I remember when everyone would always flog Nvidia cards because of the low bit bus compared to AMD... and now look. No one uses that argument lol.

Nowadays, color compression/memory techniques/etc have gotten much much better and lower bit bus's are allowed. This saves room on die and saves on costs. So really it's not an issue. 8GB 256bit cards are definitely ok. Even 6 GB.
Heck just look at the 1070s and 1080s. They use a 256 bit bus and more than 4GB. You don't see anyone complaining about that?
