AMD holding priority access to HBM2 production capacity

According to sources, AMD holds the advantage in HBM development, and will have a distinct lead in the development of HBM's successor, HBM2.

Read more on AMD holding priority access to HBM2 Production Capacity.

If they hold prioirty access to it then maybe if they can get it out the door first, people will start to buy AMD more due to Nvidia's constant limited supply. Just hope they got some good cores to back it up

Hmm, this could mean that MD could have a whole HBM range of next generation GPUs, and Nvidia could be limited to only having HBM on high end models.

This could be great for AMD, especially on the low end or on mobile devices where space savings will be most useful.

Fixed that for you:p

That's a very good point. It could also imply that if supply is really low due to AMD getting most of the produtcion. Then Nvidia would have the few top cards with HBM2 and possibly HBM1 on lower end cards if mass production is held somewhere else. That would also give AMD a much better marketing and technical standpoint and at the lower end possibly hand them the market because of the VRAM war due to higher capacities and generational advantage.

Just waiting on AMDs to get everything right on the Fury line. Also is it just me, or are some of the writers on Toms hardware quite biased towards AMD? Defends nVidia then bloody bombs AMD for the pump issue that AMD very quickly addressed... Unlike a certain CEO that wails on the consumers.

Was it Tom's Hardware the guys who didn't got their FuryX card because of anti-AMD bias or KitGuru?

Yep, it was kitguru. The guy that made that retarded video was a joke to say the least. Should have stuck to praying.
