Well they are extremely close in performance... 770 is basically a slightly modified 680 with Gpu Boost 2.0 and much better memory. OC'ing both will get you nowhere as they can OC just as good as the other.

770 is newer and drivers from nvidia may ever so slightly pull it ahead. Has newer features and runs quieter/cooler.

7970 will be the flagship card untill 8xxx(rumors are it'll be 9xxx) and will be released towards Q4 2013 or Q1 2014.

Personaly I would go for the 770.

I would how ever go for a Stock card. In my Opinion the stock 770'S loook so nice and clean.

Either one is better than my card(7950) so can't go wrong with both

GTX 770 gets my vote. Just because it's supposed to be slightly faster and if you have upgrade plans to throw in another card you'll want to use SLI and not CrossfireX, or at least for now.

Seen as they are the same price and have the same performance, you can't go wrong with either. I'd give the edge to the 770 though, it is slightly faster, it's also quieter and cooler than a 7970.

770 gets my vote, with a good price reduction on what was last series top range single gpu from nvidia.
