These appear to be temporary discounts implemented by Retailors to move inventory. A number of factors are contributing to this move. The largest is the sluggish shipment of AM4 Motherboards.
Amazon in the US has dropped the price on the 1800X by 30 Bucks. Realistically I did not anticipate seeing any price cuts until Intel starts shipping its next generation processors. Some time in the 2nd to 3rd quarter of 2018. The Mother Ship can be none to happy about this move even if its the Retailors eating the deficit.
