AMD has released a list of VR-Ready CPUs, which includes a few chips that are yet to be released to the consumer market.

DX12 should in theory make VR much easier on the CPU single threaded performance as it should allow for making multiple cores and threads easier to reach and therefore send more data to the GPU as possible, which only emphasis's the need for very powerful GPUs.
