Launching RDNA 4 in March gives AMD "extra time to optimise" and "enable more FSR 4 titles".

I can't prove that this is true or not because they could be lying, but if they'd rushed this launch to compete against what is looking like a paper launch for the Blackwell stuff, and screwed it up like they did in the past, we'd all be complaining. But they're delaying it to make sure it's all right, and guess what? We're all complaining.

I think people are complaining because they way they handled it seemed rush and last minute. All they did was announce a name and couple small details that don't matter.

Why bother bringing it up if you internally decided to delay it? You could have stayed quiet and done whatever you needed to then come out with a grand reveal saying "tomorrow you'll be able to purchase RDNA4". You'd get maximum hype train traffic(for those who are excited) and get better sales right off the bat. Akin to how Apex Legends trailer came out and at the end it said download now and that game had MASS success because of it.

That's just me though. To me they way they are going about it is they are terrified of Nvidia but honestly they just need to ignore Nvidia. You are targeting the mid-range. Stay competitive there. Nvidia are going to launch their halo products first. They will have time to sell mid-range for a couple months.

I can understand that. But wouldn't people be asking where RDNA 4 was if they didn't say anything? They've done that in the past too and got flack for it. 'No show? What a wasted opportunity, AMD. You're just giving all the limelight to Nvidia'.

It's looking to me that nothing Radeon can do will be good enough for some. And emphasis is on 'can'. The same reason I push back against people saying 'games aren't optimised' is because it's not a matter of 'deciding' or 'pushing the optimise button'. Sometimes it's damned if you do, damned if you don't, because consumers have high demands and some elements of production aren't feasible. I mean, I know you know this stuff. But I genuinely feel that others don't.

But yeah, I totally agree that AMD should ignore Nvidia and just go on their own merits. Enough people like Radeon and hate Nvidia at this point for AMD to make their own path in the industry.

This has nothing to do with wanting to get it right or software or any other excuse, the dumb f$%ks were going to price it too high as always, got wind of Ngreedias pricing, chickened out, and even despite the delay they'll be stupid like they always are and still price it too high, just not as high as initially.
They'll get the usual shit reviews and lower it to where it should have always been but as usual it'll be too late and yet again another massive missed opportunity. So then everyone will be dealing with Ngreedias deliberate shortages to keep driving prices higher as most of the sheep will want to buy something immediately and so the cycle continues of ridiculous pricing with shortages, till AMD finally get their finger out.

You could be right. You probably are.
