AMD cuts prices of Radeon R9 290, 290X cards in US

AMD has cut prices of its Radeon R9 290 and R9 290X GPUs. The Radeon R9 290 has dropped from its previous $399 price to $299, that's $100 off. Meanwhile the R9 290X dropped from $549 to $399, a drop of $150.

I bought a msi 290 and it destroyed my brand new xfx 850 core edition.
Got it for £267 but I now want to try a 980 as its the second issue I've had in three months with AMD cards. Always had and chips and gpu's but ready to invest in nvidia and see if they stay hood for a while.

AMD never settles when it comes to beating nvidia by price.

The Xfx 850 core edition is PSU of great quality, so I am interested in how that happend as well. Also even with 3 290x along with my heavily OC'd 2600k dont use more than ~900W during 4k gaming.
