If big Navi is as solid as current Navi, but with improvements they're likely working on, I think it could be quite good and GPUs might become interesting again. Nvidia's Samsung Ampere architecture is not going to be another Turing, surely.

I am eagerly awaiting the Ryzen Zen 2 based APU's with Navi. I think those will be quite impressive.

Navi's memory focused improvements would be huge for an APU. One of the problems with AMD's current APUs is that they are bandwidth starved in a lot of modern titles. Better bandwidth utilisation and support for faster memory would be huge.

I wouldn't say that Vega was bad. It definitely was a successful architecture from AMD (lots of mining money) and its core components will certainly become more useful over time (accelerated FP16 will be used on both of the next consoles with Navi).
There's also a lot of new games where the Vega 56 is besting the GTX 1080, with RAGE 2 and Wolfenstein: Youngblood being recent examples.
The main problem with Vega was that most of its lifespan was during the mining boom and it wasn't good value until relatively recently. Today a Vega 56 is available for £230 new. Not bad.

I'm looking to get new GPU around the time of Cyber Punk so I hope something nice is out the door by then from all three so I have choice or price drops on the current crop but I'm leaning towards all the newer gpu's costing newer prices.
My 970's have done me well really but next time it's single card only so I want as good as I can afford cause it will have to last a few years, just hope we start to see some bigger performance gains other than just raytracing power alone.
I think amd are on the right track but with nvidia going 7nm next they need something special to keep up with them.

While I am hyped for some good highend competition, I will NOT be waiting for this one. Was holding out before VEGA was released and waited for nothing... ended buying another 1080ti. Will probably get a boardpartner 5700xt if the priece is right here in Spain (90% sure it will be inflated.. ) for my living room setup.
Doubt nothing will come close to my 2080ti.
For those wondering then No, I did not buy it - would not spend that kind of money for a GPU. Howerver - I did change it for other hardware and custom liquid cooling gear that I had not being used + 1080ti with a friend. So I did not pay cash.

While the Vega 64 was in many ways a disaster, the Vega 56 was the opposite. I got a used Sapphire Nitro+ LE V56 a year ago and I'm really really happy with this card. No noise under load (including mining), great thermals, great performance per watt for AMD standards.
At £230 it's an excellent deal guys. Get the right cooler and you'll get a great graphics card.
Oh and I did have an air cooled Strix Fury for 2 years (had to RMA it due to a tiny hardware fault somewhere when watching a video and Twitch at the same time), also absolutely cool and quiet card as well.
