I've got a socket 754 3200+ Newcie and it serves me well. Not as god for OC'ing as the Winchesters, but still a decent CPU :D

thats fine, yeah with better cooling it would be well worth it. ive seen newcastle 3000+'s hit 3ghz unstable, 2.8ghz stable.

mine loads ~56, 57ºC

i use the stock one, i did have another fan that ran @ 8000RPM, but it made virtually no difference, it made a 1*c difference asin both temp's lowered by 1*c so i decided it wernt worth it and took it back to the shop

and even if the temp was lower, how would i be able to overclock it, cos i have a crappy motherbord that i have been told wont overclock it

my mobo is jetway S755MAX with a sis 755 chipset

kempez found a manual and spesification for that mobo, but it was in german, and translators, or atleast the ones i could find all cost! so i couldnt make head nor tail of it!

Yeah your mobo will hold you back I'm afraid. But ith better cooling you will be able to get some ort of OC out of it ;)

how would i go about overclocking it?

do you do it with a program, or do you hotwire it?!

do you do anything with the hardware or the software?

you will be lucky to even have a FSB adjustment with an SiS chipset and dont expect it to be stable. seriously dude ur mobo sucks

his motherboard would be good in the right situation but for overclocking it sucks balls hard

That'd be a freaky Newcastle imho, the Winnies are the better core without a doubt (of the two cores mentioned). With a new mobo, decent cooling and some really good ram it'd get up and go alright for ya :)

yeah cost quiet a bit lol

my ram is kick frickin ass, cooling, eh i plan on getting a new case in teh future. as for proccy, i love it

i have a newcastle 3000+ and runs at 2.3ghz stable and i will be trying to overclock more but my ram is keeping me a little back and also the PSU i think
