AMD 14.2 Drivers now Available

14.2 Mantle performance seems even better than 14.1 :D
Mantle is so much smoother than DX11 in BF4, it's like i'm playing on a monitor with a higher refresh rate.
 
I have been looking at their driver page everyday to see any new releases.. beat me to it. Going to benchmark StarSwarm again to see if i get any performance increases!
 
I havent realy found any improvement the beta notes just suggest thay fixed crossfire and a cuple of DX9 errors dosent say anything about better support for my HD series card yet.
Oh well still waiting for a better driver for me then (at least thay fixed the minecraft bug)
 
I can't even play BS4 and yes i mean BS as the effin thing has done nothing but crash since their last patch was hoping to see if these drivers made a difference but I've gone back to MWO as it runs so much better than BS

Do you use the realmware settings editor by any chance?
If you do you need to delete the user.cfg it creates in your BF4 folder.

Some people have said you only need to delete "UI.DrawEnable 1" from the cfg file to fix the crashing but it crashes for me even if I delete that line. The only way to stop the crashing for me is to delete the user.cfg file and not use the settings editor.

Thanks SieB found out about the Ui.DrawEnable 1 last night as soon as I deleted that line I was able to get into a game will try tonight and see how long I now last in a game before it drops but I'm hoping that it won't as BF4 has so much potential to be an epic game.
Just wish I new about this a week ago or that stupid Dice fixed it.

For anyone interested in Mantle performance with 14.2, I made this vid of DX11 vs Mantle for the Second Assault maps. For me with my 290 and 2500k i'm getting a upto 10fps+ increase with Mantle. One thing you can't see in the vid though is how much smoother Mantle is because of the faster frame times.

Sorry about the quality, youtube hates me and makes all my vids pixilated and crap. Luckily the important part is the FPS counter in the top right though for this vid and not the graphics.

Well my system must be broken or something as I was getting 30-50 fps less running Mantle as apposed to using Dx.
 
Anyone else having some issues with 14.2? Since updating i'm getting little artifacts on the taskbar - they clear once I click on it though. Very strange.

It was a clean install using Driver Sweeper as I usually do, and my card is at stock. Anyone so much as heard anything?

There has been a fair bit of a performance increase just through drivers for the 7950. You are looking at 10-20 fps more in some games, I think it's about time you updated your drivers :lol:
 
what this I see about Driver sweeper not working as good as it should.....?
I've just got DDU 12.4 and gonna patch my driver now......
My recent benchmark was Thief 2014 (maxed with no AA) which was 55fps
 
If you're not using the paid version then it keeps leaving leftovers in registry which will cause conflicts sooner or later, or at least that happened to me.

Driver sweeper still works ok as far as I know but from what I have read DDU is better. I've never used driver sweeper personally but I have used DDU.

I think it's mainly to do with DDU being made especially for removing GPU drivers.
 
I gave that DDU a try but it seemed to take out my Intel HD drivers as well.....no matter though.
Not a huge boost in Ave Frames.... from 55.2 to 56.6, but I know it will benefit some games more than others.
