Amazon Prime Video will have ads in the UK and US from February

It's had adverts for ages though, always has adverts at the start of episodes etc even for paid for members, so if they are going to add more then this is just going to be a kick in the teeth!

True, but they are adverts for their own shows and they are skippable.


That said I hardly ever watch it any way, I only want the free prime shipping tbh. So anything is a bonus.


The world is deffo going ad mad though.


I never really thought about it before, but someone made a comment about ads being the most "un green" thing in the world. At first I didn't get it, then they pointed out the numbers on wasted energy for electricity for ads that people just ignore. Pretty depressing really.


I think the only ad I have EVER seen since being a small child that actually made me sort of want something was Apple's "In the jungle" ad for the green Iphone 8. And I never ended up buying it, I just made sure to get a green Iphone 11 PM when I got one and it was renewed and cost me £340.


That said it would appear that the ads do indeed work on many far more gullible people....


Again sort of on topic. Was watching the news today and they were saying that over Xmas vinyl record sales were absolutely through the roof. Even kids buy them in piles, saying that they feel like they own something. I think maybe the digital age is starting to make people realise that actually they own F all. Just some virtual products that the people who sold them to you can pull the plug on whenever theys see fit and leave you with F all.


I am still blocking ads and sponsors and self promotions very well on YT using Smart Tube Next on my fire stick. That said, if YT manage to combat it fully I will just buy one of them dodgy streaming sticks and watch everything without paying for any of it.

Actually I tell you what is hilariously ironic about it all.....


All of those crappy things (Netflix, Prime, etc) were all successful BECAUSE people were sick of ads on terrestrial TV LOL.

I was looking on there for something to watch and all it seems to be is extra subscription channels, they use to have a free to watch option but it seems to have been removed

Well there subs wont go down due to prime delivery, but people will be watching less.

If they add it too owned items or rentals then I will make a complaint, there is a limit.

Thing is they simply did well when new and then over time when popular started forcing all the same stuff the TV did for the simple reason they wanted to do that from the start anyways.

If it's ever as bad as YT can be i'll ditch it, as when i watch on tv the ad's are annoying as hell so i'll be downloading that version alien

People don't just pay for a streaming sub to watch shows/movies, 1 of the incentives is that there are no commercials and now they want to add commercials but charge extra money so you can pay more to not see the commercials they are adding in.

I find it amazing that it's nigh impossible for corporations not to be evil, They just get worse every year.
