AM2 Athlon64 3500+

I had a 3500+ 939 and it ran well although I wasnt a overclocker then so couldnt give you any clocks I got although I have seen most do around 2.5ghz.

Obviously the am2 version is not much different to the 939 socket apart from supporting ddr2 so the performance wont be any worse :yumyum:

Good luck.

I already went out and bought everything.. then i think i may have rushed out to early..

you guys know how to activate ya signature.. for some reason mine aint showing...

I have tried with the Over clocking utility that ASUS bundles with the board, but i think the tool isn`t all that great. So im in search of a better one.. unless ya have ideas? :-)

thx

Good idea. Take a little longer.. but i suppose healthier ish... :-)

Works a dream so far with no probs.. Will try Vista 2 beta when that finishes d/l in 3 hours.... Like to see what that can do at 64 bit.. prob not alot.. :-/

thanx

Will over clock and leave specs soon

the 3500+ has an odd multiplier , so it will run ur ram at stock at 720 mhz instead of 800 mhz. Not much of a problem for A64 still since the IMC is really efficient but something that you might want to keep an eye on. However the AM2 clock like a beast and 2.9 or 3.0 ghz seem to be a breeze for them. What cooler are you using with it ?? The Arctic Cooling 64 Freezer Pro works great and is real cheap and good cooler.

Hi, Im using a Thermal Take Big Water 745 cooling kit at the moment. CPU running at about 31 degrees celcius.

thanx
