Alleged GTX 1180 specifications leak

It looks like it to me. Not only is it a die shrink but it's also a much bigger die than the 1080.

Hmm looks like they concocted it from their own speculation if you ask me. Shouldn't we see a higher core clock at least? 1.7 maybe

I would say, with those specs, no. Look at the CUDA cores. They have gone from 2560 to a whopping 3584 on a larger die. That is the same amount of CUDA cores as a 1080Ti, and we all know that boosts on those are around 1800 max on air unless you want the fan going mental.

It's basically a 1080ti in spec.

Edit. Remember one thing as we go into the future.. Nvidia basically ditched the kitchen sink after Fermi and relied on much less clocked at a much higher frequency. With the advent of DX12 they can no longer do that, and they know it. So it was basically time for them to get the cores out of their pockets and DP (Tensor Cores) and etc to combat AMD getting any sort of a lead (as they often do in DX12). So yeah, that is why. Having owned the XP I can say that even that thing is a beast and really needs water if you are using it hard.

Looks likely to be true considering the 1080 is faster than the previous gens top end Titan X.

Yeah I didn't think of that.. It definitely makes sense. End of the day? something that performs the same as a 1080Ti is not going to sell to Ti owners is it? whereas like the 1080 they can make a low fat card, sell that to the Ti owners and then sell them a 1180Ti too. Double your money, try to get rich etc.

Me? I don't care. Nothing has really changed visually since DX12 happened and the cards I have all carry out their purpose fine.

You guys sure put it into perspective for me, thanks. If true, the amount of additional cores is amazing alright. I'll gladly pick one up and then a Ti because that's the bandwagon I really want to be on.

All the games I play can easily be maxed out at 3440x1440 with my Titan Xp, I'll wait for the 1180 Ti, It would be a little silly going for the 1180 if it's only maybe 30% faster.

Yeah it would be a total waste going for anything else than the upcoming Ti. You'll be sorted well until that day. You wc it?

I disagree. I think the 1180 would be a great card.

Heck even the 1170 will most likely be between the 1080/1080ti and that would also be a great card too. Probably have super low power consumption too. I can't even imagine the 1160. Probably a 1070ti performance level with less than 100 watts of power consumption.

I've linked this article in AnandTech and got some interesting remarks on it:

- should be 10nm
- price is way too low (749 USD more reasonable all things considering)
- should be 96 ROPs
- looks speculative (like I said in my first post, and as Mark pointed out; it's wccftech.com who are always full of it)

Thoughts lads?

This is what I’m thinking as well, since every new gen card has had quite much lower power consumtion than their Ti siblings.
