Afraid to bbq my System

Hi folks

I have a question: how likely is this old PSU to bbq my system

Silverstone SST-ST40EF

I haven't used it in a while and I quickly need a PSU to test out a Pentium Anniversary on a Maximus VI Gene. (only with the internal GPU and only a SSD for the operating system)

Thanks in advance
Chris

Do you have a PSU tester bye any chance if not pick one up and test it with that apart from that how old is the PSU.

It won't fry your system. A pentium anniversary won't load more tha 125Watts on it even with a crazy overclock!

How likely is this unit to kill the system if its not working correctly?
Its from 2007 if I remember correctly and it was on storage for a while now :-D

I am afraid that things might go wrong, but its the only unit I have at hand at this time :-)
What's the required wattage if I was to add a GTX 570 Phantom?

That PSU won't be able to handle the GTX570. Well it techincally is, but I doubt it can deliver all 400W on the 12 volt rail

Jump start it with the pin trick and hang a few fans off it and leave it running a while to blow out those cobwebs.
