Hi there I've been reading to try to find out what effect a certain water set up might be like.

I have a Thermochill 120.3 early version along with 3 papst fans, a Storm block, and a Maze 4 GPU block. I have an early DDC with the modified top.

What I am contemplating is to move the radiator and pump under my desk to quieten it down, this would mean the 1/2" tubes would be 30" long from the radiator to the CPU then 30" back from the GPU to the pump, also the pump would be a total of 14" below the height of the Storm.

Has anyone ever done anything like this? If so how did it work?

Then what is the likely result? Will it effect the temps or does extending the tubing not make a lot of difference? I would assume that the radiator and pump being 14" lower wouldn't be drastic but again any idea's would be welcome.

I don't fancy doing it if it will knock the performance off too much.

Thanks :)

Im no water expert but the DDC has a max lifting hight of 3.7m accordind to STs specs. So i would have thought you'd be ok, buut you may want confirmation from someone more knolageable...

I would actually suggest a second pump. Your setup right now is starting to push the single pump limits imo. But you shouldn't have any problem relocating the radiator, just keep in mind the idea of putting in a second pump as the Storm likes a nice high flow rate.

yea what frag said, the DDC has high head/pressure but at the sacrifice of flow rate. i would suggest a pump with a native of 1/2" like a mcp655 / D5

Just like Moi :D And I ain't gonna have anywhere near as much of a loop as you. The storm really gags for high flow

So would the D5 be a better pump for my system because of the extra flow?

I don't want to spend like £60 if it's not going to be much better, allthough if it was definately better I think I would get one ordered.

Thanks for the replies. :)
