Advice on what to replace my x2 6950 2gb with

I recently pretty much built a new Rig But I am at a impasse on what to replace my Graphics with?

I at the moment have 2x 6950 2gb Cards Witch while they do give me Decent performance on my 2 monitors consisting of 2 diff resolutions SamSung SyncMaster 2493HM 1900x1200, Then one SamSung SyncMaster T220HD 1680x1050.

I am just going to give you my current system to help get the most accurate Advice possible to complement my current system.

I7-4820K 3.70gz (LGA 2011) Cooled by a H80i
Big Bang-XPower II motherboard
16gb Corsair Vengeance 2133 Ram

I was looking at replacing my 2 graphics cards with one to make it a lot quieter and also cooler in my CM HAF X Case Noted a Review by tom on a CM HAF 932 Adv Personally I don't like that case and do prefer my HAF X case over it.

But anyway onto my Main issue What card to get I was thinking either a 780 or Even the more Expensive TI version but I wanted it to be Quiet and cool running not AMD's 290 that well are disappointing as they run very hot and are not quiet witch tom said in his Review video.

Well hope to hear from you all no rush as the 6950's do work still even thou I've had them a while.

Well, 6950 CF isn't exactly a slouch by today's standards, but something to keep in mind is that it seems that altcoins have pushed radeons' price up a bit, making selling them 2nd hand a decent deal.

Whats your budget?

I would like to keep it under £500 As I actually paid quite abit less to get the 2x 6950 I think it was £190 Each for them and that was I think 2-3 years ago would have to Dig up receipt for them to be exact I also have custom Coolers on them both.

How about a R9 290x with a custom cooler?

U know don't get me wrong I like AMD In terms of eye candy alone they Give better Images than Nvidia And there evidence of that all over the place the images are often sharper and much more clear and I used to use Nvidia for quite some time.

But I feel the 290/X while still good card's But thing is even with a custom cooler It won't be as Cool and quite as the Nvidia 780/TI counterparts that will also get custom coolers also the Overclocking looking at 100's of Reviews seem to suggest that there is very little headroom for the 290's but 780's are looking very good and the TI seems to be insane.

That is why as I want a quite PC now why I am leaning more towards Nvidia instead of AMD.

Anyway I've been leaning towards these

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-035-IN abit abouve my budget but am tempted might wait to see if the prices reduce.

Or the Stranded 780 Version

I've read a lot of reviews on them and from what I've Read it seem to be the Best cooler of pretty much any of them keeping the GPU very cool even under load while being very quiet even under full load under 40db

Gonna shop around abit thou see if there selling for cheaper else where.

Yes I've looked at them I got admit the Phantom easy clean and pull out fan's is a great idea but I watched toms review and while the fan speed is deceptive Not keen on the idea of them not being able to do more if need be.

and the two I posted above seem from review be a lot quieter and much better Coolers I've also had quite abit of bad luck with gainward in the past witch make me a tad bios against the brand.

The Sapphire Tri-X cooler is more quiet than any of the other AMD/Nvidia coolers out there. Worth looking into for the 290/290x. Also keeps them very cool(cooler than any other 290/290x card).

Hey people just thought I would let you all know I am going with a

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-035-IN&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1402

From reviews and reading it really does have a nice cooler and is quiet even under load.

I'll prob sell my 2x 6950's so will recoup a little of that back expecting at least £200 for them both.

Oh and I did look into amd 290X's a lot but as I said in previous posts There new GPU is just to dam hot even with custom coolers it won't beat a custom cooled 780 Ti card unfortunate but just how it is at the moment.

Stays just as cool as the 780ti's. It will match other 780ti's as well.

Well just to let you know I have my New Graphics Card installed and Oh my It is a amazing seriously I am quite stumped how quiet and fast it is I ran a test said my PC was 92% faster than other peoples PC I am tempted to OC my CPU and the GPU a little just to see how far I can push it.

3DMark Basic Edition score was 10364

From what I can see only one beating it was Overclocked to the Extreme additions 780TI's or duel set up's

It idles for me at 29c under load not seen it go above 57c but I suppose a lot of that can be a tribute to my case doing what it promises with good air flow.

The TI in my book for 1st time for a TI I would rate this as a Classic Nvidia GPU along with the others I've had in the past like the 8800's oh wait there was another TI 4200TI where good but that going way back.

I can see your still trying to argue AMD 290 case well I disagree with you completely the 290's are good but they are not classic by a long shot But at the same time I am expecting something truly amazing for there next Line witch will most likely be a re-worked core of the current as I see it so often and it tend's to be the re-worked core are more efficient and use less energy so produce less heat.

780's to me look like a re-worked titan core so I would argue that is what Nvidia have done with out standing results.
