Edit: NVM just read a little closer, sorry.

Anyone want to but me one? Hahaha :') it's a lovely piece of kit but that's a dream monitor for me, think I may have to settle for a 1080p gsync ....... when I eventually get the money.

This very well could be the perfect monitor in my case. 34" 21:9 is the perfect aspect ratio for me and where I sit and as an AMD guy, Free Sync is perfect. Will wait for some reviews obviously as Acer isn't one of my favorite brands but if I were to spend a grand on a monitor, this could be it.

The new BenQ XL2730Z is most likely my next monitor but I may wait to see some more of this.

I'll be seriously considering this monitor. The problem will be to either wait for reviews and risk it going out of stock or pre-ordering one and it turns out to be a turd, although I don't think that would happen :).

The low sRGB gamut coverage is a little disappointing but it's unashamedly a gaming monitor first and foremost. The premium for the g-sync version was predicted and is hopefully justified later, but it does lock us in to Nvidia GPU's for at least a few years, which I'm not completely happy with.

An absolute rip off. Compare to the dell ultrasharp U3415W

You're paying £250 extra for "freesync", 1ms faster response and poorer sRGB coverage. All other specs are the same.

Yeah but Freesync might be worth the extra $250. Hell youre paying about that much extra for G-Sync as well. I havent seen one in person so I cant say but from what all I read about FreeSync and G-Sync, theyre well worth the extra cash if youve got it and youre a pretty hardcore gamer.

One could hope the competition brings the same specs to the table soon, so I'm not forced to buy this one. I do want it real bad, but TBH £999 *is* more than I got in the budget for my next monitor. Guess that goes for a lot of people.

For £500 it would be a instant buy for me. at £750 - a painful buy - but still a buy. at £1000 ... well, while it may be 'worth it' i fear the price will very quickly drop £2-300 once other make the same type of monitor thus making it a 'not so smart' buy.

Yeah, when you put it like that it doesn't sound so rosy any more. Having just looked on OCUK at their range of monitors the sweet spot for 34" widescreen 1440p curved monitors is around £700 - £800, without the whatever-sync option. I think I'll be watching this market closely before committing.

Interesting video, thanks for posting. $1,200 US dollars, means about £1,000 in the UK probably which I think is about £250 too expensive.
